বাংলা বা বঙ্গের সহস্র বছরের ইতিহাস ও ঐতিহ্য, সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির কথা সকলের মাঝে পৌঁছে দিতে বাঙালীয়ানা কাজ শুরু করেছিল ২০১৮-র ফেব্রুয়ারী মাসে। শ্রমের সফলতা বিচার্য পাঠকের হাতে তবে এ সময়ে “বাঙালীয়ানা” বিবিধ প্রতিকূলতা ডিঙ্গিয়ে নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে গেছে।
বাংলাদেশ, পশ্চিমবঙ্গ, ঝাড়খণ্ড, আসাম, ত্রিপুরার অধিবাসীসহ সারা বিশ্বে ছড়িয়ে থাকা প্রায় ৩০ কোটি বাংলাভাষী ও অন্যান্য নৃগোষ্ঠীর মানুষ বিশেষভাবে নতুন প্রজন্মের হাতে হাজার বছরের ইতিহাস ও ঐতিহ্য, সাহিত্য ও সংস্কৃতির কথা পৌঁছে দিতে প্রয়াসী ‘বাঙালীয়ানা’।
২০২১ সাল থেকে ইউটিউব টিভি চ্যানেল হিসেবে ‘বাঙালীয়ানা টিভি’ কাজ করছে একই উদ্দেশ্যে। ২০২৪ সাল থেকে বিভিন্ন মাধ্যমে গ্রন্থ প্রকাশনা নিয়েও কাজ করছে বাঙালীয়ানা। প্রকাশিত হয়েছে মুদ্রিত গ্রন্থ, অডিওবুক ও ডিজিটাল বুক হিসেবে প্রকাশার্থে কয়েকটি পাণ্ডুলিপি প্রক্রিয়াধীন রয়েছে।
বাঙালীয়ানা তার উদ্দেশ্য সাধনের লক্ষ্যে বাংলাভাষাভাষী অভিবাসীদের নিয়ে ২০২৩ সাল থেকে আলোচনা, গান, নৃত্য, আবৃত্তি, চিত্র প্রদর্শনী, চলচ্চিত্র প্রদর্শনসহ নানা ধরনের ইন্টারঅ্যাক্টিভ আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। যার মাধ্যমে অভিবাসীদের মাঝে বাঙালীয়ানার উদ্দেশ্য বাস্তবায়ন এবং ভিনদেশী মূলধারার জনগণের সাথে মেলবন্ধন প্রতিষ্ঠার গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কাজটি করছে বাঙালীয়ানা ফাউন্ডেশন ইউএসএ ইনকর্পোরেটেড।
In February 2018, Bangalianaa embarked on a mission to showcase to the world the thousand years of rich & diverse history, culture, literature, and heritage of Bangla. The success of these efforts is up to the discerning reader to decide. However, we may be judged that in these years, ‘Bangalianaa’ has kept working tirelessly, overcoming all obstacles.
‘Bangalianaa’ aspires to make available the thousand years of history and heritage, literature and culture of Bangla to the nearly 300 million Bangla speakers – particularly the next generation – living in Bangladesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Tripura and all across the world, as well as to people of all other ethnicities.
Since 2021, ‘Bangalianaa TV’ has been operating as a YouTube TV channel with the same mission. From 2024, Bangalianaa has also expanded its efforts into book publishing across various formats. Printed books have been published, and several manuscripts are currently undergoing processing for release as print books, audiobooks and digital books.
To further its objectives, Bangalianaa has been organizing diverse interactive events, including discussions, music, dance, recitations, art exhibitions, and film screenings, for Bengali-speaking immigrants in New York since 2023. Through these initiatives, Bangalianaa Foundation USA Inc., the not-for-profit entity of Bangalianaa, is actively working to realize Bangalianaa’s mission among immigrants and to foster strong connections with the mainstream population.
